Join the Lab
We are always looking for highly motivated people interested in robotics, control theory, machine learning, and human-robot interaction.
Postdoctoral Researchers
Candidates with a background in robotics, control, or machine learning can join through fellowships such as the C V Raman Post-Doctoral, National Post-Doctoral, or DS Kothari fellowships.
PhD and MTech (Research)
Apply to the Department of Cyber-Physical Systems through the IISc admissions portal. Applications typically open in March–April and September–October.
IISc Master's Students
To do your master's project with the HiRo Lab, visit Prof. Ravi Prakash in his office (Room 319) or write to him.
Research Staff and UG Interns
Email the lab with your interests and CV. UG students can also apply through programs such as the IASc-INSA-NASI Summer Research Fellowship, usually announced in October–November. Internships require at least 2 months at the lab for a certificate, and most are self-funded.
How to Apply
Write to hiro.cps.iisc@gmail.com, cc'ing ravipr@iisc.ac.in, with your CV and a short note on your background, why the HiRo Lab interests you (a specific project or research direction), and the skills you would bring.
Note: We receive a large number of applications. If you do not hear back within a week, please send a gentle reminder. If you still do not receive a response after that, your application has been reviewed but is not a fit for our current openings.
